vicar import menu

--------------------------------
This menu lets you convert VICAR files into IcoMetrics images. It works as follows:

  1. You enter the name of the VICAR file in the Input VICAR file menu field. The expected file extension is .img.
  2. You enter a name for the converted image file in the Image file name field. This is the file you will be creating.
  3. You click on IMPORT VICAR IMAGE.

The system will create a greyscale image.

You can inspect the header information of a VICAR file (without importing it) by entering the VICAR file name as above, and then clicking on DESCRIBE VICAR FILE CONTENTS. A window will appear with a listing of the header information. The listing window is just like this help window; click anywhere to make it go away.

You can look at a VICAR image (without importing it) by entering its name as above, and clicking on PREVIEW VICAR IMAGE. The system will set the size of the displayed image so that one image pixel corresponds to one pixel on the workstation screen.

You can preview several VICAR images at once, and you can make blowups or delete them in the usual way.
