set default menu

This menu lets you move from one disk directory to another. There are two
user interfaces:
- You can click on CHANGE CURRENT DEFAULT. The system displays a pop-up
menu showing all subdirectories of your current directory, as well as two
entries (at the beginning of the menu) that let you select the current
directory, or move up one level in the directory hierarchy. On UNIX
systems, the . symbol means the current directory, and the
.. symbol means
the level above. On VMS systems, the [] and [-]
symbols serve the same
purposes, respectively. When you click on . or [],
you thereby select the
current directory and the interface terminates. The same thing happens if you
click on Exit, or on some other IcoMetrics menu. If you click on any other
directory, the system moves you to that directory and generates a new menu of
selections. This continues until you select ., [], Exit, or click in
another menu.
- You can change your current default directory by typing any valid
device/directory string (or a logical name for a device/directory combination,
on VMS systems) in the Current default menu field. You can also store
up to ten frequently-visited directory names on the menu, and move to them
just by clicking on the name. To enter or modify a stored name, click on the
adjacent Modify menu field, and enter the directory name.
You can return to the
directory you were in when you first ran the program by clicking
on SET TO ORIGINAL DEFAULT.
