registration grid menu

The Grid menu is for creating grid images. These are simple vector images where the vectors
form a regular grid of a specified size. Such a grid image can be used in the registration
menu as a master image to correct a slave image for optical distortions.
The procedure for creating a grid image is as follows:
- Specify the spacing between the grid lines by entering the distances in
the Grid x-interval and Grid y-interval menu fields.
- Specify the grid resolution in the Grid resolution menu field. If you need a
positional accuracy of 1/1000th of the grid spacing, you would enter 0.001 here.
- Specify the units you used in step 1) above by entering them in the Grid units menu
field.
- Enter the number of grid boxes you want horizontally and vertically. For example, if
you need five grid intervals horizontally and three vertically, you would enter 5 in
the Grid x-boxes field and 3 in the Grid y-boxes field.
- Enter the name you want for the grid image in the Grid image name menu field.
- Click on CREATE GRID IMAGE.
