interlace error removal menu

This menu is for correcting the errors that appear in grabbed video images when either the camera or the subject moves between fields.
This kind of error appears as a sawtooth appearance along the boundaries between dark and light in the image. In general, there are two
ways to deal with these errors:
- By repositioning one field (in our case, field B) so it lines up with field A, at least in the part of the image that concerns you.
- By eliminating one field entirely, and reconstructing the entire image from the other field.
The procedure is as follows:
- Set the Display width menu field appropriately, and click on DISPLAY to display the image.
- Blow up the part of the image you're interested in enough that you can see individual pixels.
To use method 1, click repeatedly on MOVE LEFT, MOVE RIGHT, MOVE UP, or MOVE DOWN and
observe the effect on your blowup. You have to play around with this a bit to get the hang of it. Stop when the image looks best.
- To use method 2, click on one of DUPLICATE FIELD A, DUPLICATE FIELD B, INTERPOLATE FIELD A, or INTERPOLATE FIELD B.
The "other" field will be thrown away, and new lines created to fill in where it used to be. The DUPLICATE
options fill in by duplicating the line below each tossed line. The INTERPOLATE options fill
in by interpolating between the saved lines. Which method to use is a matter of taste.
