import routines

This menu is for importing image files, which means converting images created by other software into a format that IcoMetrics can understand.
The options are:
- Import DES
- This menu lets you import DES files. DES is a vector-file format used by some engineering firms.
- Import GIF
- This menu lets you import GIF files. GIF is a popular general-purpose color image file format.
GIF is a service mark of CompuServe Incorporated.
- Import MacPaint
- This menu lets you import MacPaint files.
MacPaint is a trademark of Apple Computer.
- Import MCID
- This menu lets you import MCID files. MCID is a format used by the IMAGE program, publicly available on the Internet.
- Import PCX
- This menu lets you import PCX images, which are produced by a program called PC Paintbrush.
- Import PNM
- This menu lets you import PNM files, otherwise known as portable bitmap files. The portable bitmap is a set of routines (pubicly available on the
Internet) that convert all sorts of image formats into each other.
- Import Sun Rasterfile
- This menu lets you import Sun Rasterfiles. These files are
generated by the screendump command on Sun workstations.
- Import Targa
- This menu lets you import Targa files. Targa is an industry-standard format defined by Truevision, Inc.
- Import TIFF
- This menu lets you import TIFF files. TIFF is an industry-standard raster image file format.
TIFF is a trademark of Aldus Corporation.
- Import Utah RLE
- This menu lets you import Utah RLE images, which are produced by software that uses the
Utah Raster Toolkit. In particular, the Rayshade ray-tracing program creates images in this
format.
- Import VICAR
- This menu lets you import VICAR images. VICAR is an image processing system used by the Jet Propulsion Laboratory.
