clipboard creation menu

--------------------------------
To create a clipboard, enter the width and height of the clipboard (in pixels) in the Rows and Columns menu fields, specify a width for the clipboard display in the Display width and then click on CREATE THE CLIPBOARD. The system will allocate memory for the clipboard, clear all the pixels to white, and display the blank image on the monitor. Once the clipboard appears, you can add images and annotations to it.

The clipboard resides entirely in memory; in order to save the contents of a clipboard, you must save it to disk using the Save clipboard menu. This also means that you can toss the contents of a clipboard by just creating a new one, or leaving the clipboard menus altogether.

The Rows and Columns values determine the resolution of the clipboard; larger values will give you more dots per inch on hardcopy, but with larger clipboards, everything takes longer. A good starting value for 8.5" x 11" plots is 100 dots per inch, or 850 for Columns and 1100 for Rows.
